MasterSeries Lite (PowerPad) Upgrades
Extend your Capabilities
PowerPad gives you a broad set of tools for everyday structural analysis and design. When your projects become larger or more complex, additional MasterSeries modules can extend the same workflow into finite element analysis, reinforced concrete slab and wall design, advanced masonry, dynamic analysis, BIM and more.

Finite Element Analysis
Model and analyse slabs, walls, rafts and other plate structures using finite element surfaces.
Concrete Slab & Wall Design
Take the results of the FE analysis further by designing reinforced-concrete slabs and walls.
From Structural Modelling to Reinforcement Design
Extend your MasterFrame model to analyse floor slabs, rafts, walls and other plate structures using multiple finite element surfaces.
Design slabs and walls directly from your MasterFrame FE results, including reinforcement regions, peak forces, design strips, punching shear and serviceability checks.
Full Masonry Design (with Advanced Yield Line Analysis)
- Full Version: Can handle up to 10 openings of arbitrary arrangements within a wall panel using yield line analysis.
- PowerPad Version: Restricted to a maximum of 2 openings, which must be evaluated using simplified sub-panel / reduced fixity rules.
- Full Version: Features automated, linear-programming-based Advanced Yield Line Analysis (AYLA). It models true plastic failure mechanisms for out-of-plane lateral wind/live loads, delivering significantly more economic, less conservative designs for complex panels.
- PowerPad Version: Relies strictly on standard codified sub-panel methods and bending moment coefficient tables.
- Full Version: Allows you to model up to 10 wind posts within a wall panel to stiffen the masonry and act in unison with the wall under lateral loading.
- PowerPad Version: No wind posts can be modelled or included.
- Full Version: Includes a comprehensive bed joint reinforcement library (featuring over 100 proprietary products, such as Bekaert Murfor Compact) to enhance the out-of-plane lateral flexural strength of masonry leaves.
- PowerPad Version: No bed joint reinforcement options are available.
- Full Version: Supports concentrated vertical point loads (e.g. from incoming floor or roof beams) applied at any position on either leaf, and automatically performs local compressive bearing checks and padstone calculations.
- PowerPad Version: No concentrated point loads or padstone design checks can be applied (only uniformly distributed line/area loads).
- Full Version: Because it uses AYLA, the full version explicitly accounts for the local stiffening effect and plastic moment capacity of piers in out-of-plane lateral load calculations.
- PowerPad Version: Under traditional non-AYLA code tables, piers often make zero contribution to out-of-plane flexural capacity due to code limitations on design flexural ratios
Full Version: Supports complex geometric wall shapes (such as gable end walls) and multi-storey vertical load takedown checks across intermediate supports

While PowerPad only handles plain (unreinforced) masonry walls, the full module includes reinforced masonry, cavity-filled masonry, reinforced hollow block systems (such as Stepoc), vertical and bed reinforcement in masonry, and composite masonry cladding.
PowerPad is restricted to standard full surcharges and horizontal surge forces. The full module adds support for additional line loads, partial surcharges, and complete highway traffic loading (to BD 30/87, BD 37/01, and Eurocode LM1/LM3).
PowerPad models a single soil layer behind the wall, whereas the full module supports multi-layered soil profiles with independent properties for upper and lower soil strata.
PowerPad is limited to a prop at the base. The full version supports up to 5 wall props with user-specified stiffness (ideal for multi-level basement design) and up to 5 inclined tie forces or ground anchors.
The full module adds support for counterfort walls, buttressed walls, reinforced piers and pockets, and sloped or stepped piers.
