Axial with Moment (with Unrestrained Compression Flange check)

The "Axial Loaded Members with Moments" design brief is the most generally applicable design brief within MasterSeries. It is designed for members subjected to a combination of axial loads, biaxial bending, shear, and torsion. This brief remains valid even if a member only experiences a subset of these forces, such as a beam with only major axis moment and shear, as the checks for other forces will automatically pass due to zero applied forces.

The Axial with Moment Checks now incorporates the Unrestrained Compression Flange check (previously known as Appendix G or Annex BB checks). This unification simplifies the design of unrestrained compression flanges, making the process more intuitive and removing the need to apply these checks separately, as was required in previous MasterFrame versions (pre 2024).

When an Axial with Moment design brief is attached to a member, its dedicated tab becomes active, offering additional inputs for axial capacity checks and other design parameters.

Key Features and Inputs within the Axial with Moment Tab (Updated for MasterSeries 2024)

The layout of the Axial with Moment tab from MasterSeries 2024 onwards has been modernised with updated iconography and elements grouped into more intuitive boxes and flyout panels for less commonly used inputs.

Automatic Data Migration

All existing Steel Design data from previous MasterFrame versions will automatically migrate to the new format in MasterSeries 2024, ensuring seamless transition and compatibility for pre-existing models.
